In Pictures: Walking the Forests of Eastern-Germany

Walking the forest paths has been peaceful. The forest floor is covered in fallen leaves, carpeting the ground in golden browns and rusty yellows. The leaves crunch under my feet. Tiny white flowers grow from beneath the leaves and shoots of green peek out from the thick carpet created by Autumn.

Out of every patch of forests comes a clearing. The green grass rolls into the distance. Also, I am loving the dedication that Germans have for clean energy and recycling.

The tiny east-german town of Herrnhut rises up out of the green fields and is dwarfed by the ever turning windmills. With only two small supermarkets, the provincial life reigns and old ladies tend to their patch of garden as the day disappears.

Living in a castle means that every board and nail creaks under the weight of my feet. The big windows mist over in the morning and the wind rattles the panes.
